How would you feel if your husband wanted to do cage fighting?

My husband wrestled in high school and did VERY well. He also is in the military and won fixed combat fighting, and has entered and advanced in local fight clubs. Anyway, he wants to enter MMA (mixed martial arts) cage fighting in our city when he gets

I would ask him not to engage in it right away. It might be something he thinks he wants to do in the heat of testosterone after being in a war zone. Let him cool his heels for a year first before starting in on this kind of sport that could do permanent

Bellator Fighting Championships plans to keep hitting new venues over the next several months.

"You're going to find some great strategic alliances, but they're going to be off the beaten path," Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney says. "That's just the nature of doing 27 live events in a nine-month period. You're going to find yourself in smaller markets in addition to big markets. … But we're doing our best to reach every conceivable stop on the map that we can. When the schedule starts to come out for fall, you'll see that we're reaching even more places we've never been before."

Ahead of this week's Bellator 43 show in Newkirk, Okla., USA TODAY spoke on the phone with Rebney about the upcoming welterweight tournament final between Rick Hawn and Jay Hieron, Bellator's growth and its future prospects. Excerpts from the conversation:
