It’s tough to remember when one of the Four Corners’ faves didn’t anchor a fight card in Ignacio.
But despite no Elco Garcia or Joe Gomez, Saturday’s action will feature plenty of boxers from the region at the aptly-named “Clash in the Rockies: The New Generation.”
Doors at Sky Ute Casino Resort Events Center will open at 6 p.m., with pro punching—and kicking, and submissions and slams—starting at 7. You read correctly; ‘Clash’ is also including mixed-martial arts on its lineup.
Headlining the evening will be two hard-hitting ladies, one of whom needs little introduction. Las Vegas, Nevada’s “Amazin’” Layla McCarter (33-13-5, 7 KO) will return for her 10th boxing bout in Ignacio as she faces New York City’s Belinda Laracuente (25-25-3, 9 KO) for eight rounds—likely at welterweight.
