Brian Stann stands and delivers on Memorial Day, puts on dominant show at UFC 130

LAS VEGAS, Nev. — Former marine captain Brian (All American) Stann had warned nothing good would come to anyone standing in his way on Memorial Day.
And the decorated veteran lived up to his words at UFC 130 on Saturday night, stopping highly touted Jorge (The Sandman) Santiago four minutes 29 seconds into the second round despite a broken right thumb.
Stann (11-3) has now won three straight since dropping down to middleweight and is showing that his fighting can match his Hollywood backstory as a war hero. A former WEC light-heavyweight champion, Stann is now a predatory middleweight with heavy hands.
Renowned trainer Greg Jackson saw something in Stann several years ago and has spent the last three years helping refine his talent in Albuquerque, N.M.
"He looks better every time he fights," said UFC president Dana White. "His story is great. Everything that comes out of his mouth is a home run. He's gold, man. The guy can become a big superstar if he keeps fighting the way he is.
